The Sale that Stops the Nation

Today is boxing day. And for Australians, that means it shopping day!
But what does boxing day really mean?

It originated from Europe and it is normally the day after Christmas when wealthy people donate boxes of stuff to their servants. And that’s meant to be a goodwill, but now Boxing day is celebrated as a big massive consumerist feast for almost everything on the stores that go at a discounted price.

I went shopping in Perth CBD and went to big shopping chains , and mind you I have never seen Perth so crowded before. My whole shopping experience was shattered. People of all ages, young and old, short or tall, teeth or no teeth are out shopping! It is crazy! And I never knew I will be claustrophobic after the first hour.

I tried on designer shoes and dresses but my size are all gone. In Myer, they had a big poster that said, ” early bird gets the right size ” .Maybe being one hour late after the shop opened was not early enough.

I refused to follow the crowd and seemingly enjoyed watching people wait at the fitting rooms. I took some dresses and tried them on over my clothes in a corner where there is a mirror! I was happy to get a nice top, as for the rest of my failed shoe shopping experience. I thought it was not a smart idea to race with the crowds in the shops instead go online and shop at my own time.

That’s why I think, one day everything will be online. Instead of people looking for shoes to buy, shoes will be delivered to our door as we pleased. No queing, no parking fines, no petrol to spend, and no crowds. Online shopping is the way to go. And Fassion Cave is here to the rescue!
