FassionCave Launch – VIP Shoe Party

by Vercess

To launch the birth of FassionCave, we decided to host a family and friends event in a form of a Shoe Party. I have never heard of this word myself, in fact I envisioned that it would be a perfect idea to hold a party that includes food, drinks, music and shopping.

We were lucky to find a venue at Oxford Hotel that accomodated 50 guests in a beautiful sunken cellar. The feeling that I  got from this venue is “cave-like” with its stone walls and that feeling of discovery as soon as you go downstairs. It was the perfect venue albeit the weekend band and dim lighting – it gave such a fun and vibrant atmosphere.

Here are some of the photos from the night, with happy faces from the ladies.

We were able to showcase the selection of boots, high heels , ballet flats and wedges from our brands: Perth local designer -VanGoh Shoes and Brazilian Brands- Ramarim, Vizzano, Moleca and Beira Rio.

We had a great party and looking forward to having more celebratory events in the future.

Ankle Boots: Smart Shopping Tips

by Vercess

Summer’s gone and as the season leans towards the chilly weather,  we also excuse and allow shopping for a new pair of boots!

I am currently obsessed with ankle boots as they are great shoes to wear as the seasons change.

They offer your feet support and warmth during cold days; whereas, they are not so stuffy when temperatures are warmer. You will be able to wear your ankle boots with everything from dresses to jeans.

The following is a list of tips to follow when you buy ankle boots.

Ankle Boots casual look

1) Flat or Heel?

The great thing about these boots is that they work both as a flat and heel. There are no rules when it comes to the height of the heel! However, these boots are better when the heel is thick and chunky. Stilettos ankle boots are not very secure nor are they attractive. You will want to choose an ankle boot that you can easily walk in all day long.

2) Colour Choices

When you buy ankle boots, you should stick to neutral colours like black, beige or brown. These are multi-seasonal shoes and not geared towards just one season. Therefore, you do not want them to be furry winter boots or pastel spring shoes. A nice plain colour will be the best choice if you plan to wear them daily.

3) Open Toe?

One of the latest trends this spring is the open toed ankle boot. This is one trend that you should not follow! These shoes are hybrids of winter boots and sandals. They serve absolutely no purpose other then confusing people and chilling your feet. Stay away from these boots!

The ankle boot is a great way to show some leg if love to wear boots all year round. You can also show off your clothes without your shoes distracting from your overall look. You will want to buy ankle boots if you love to be fashionable and classic because these shoes work with all styles.

Integrating Shoe Storage

by Felicia

I often thought about ways to integrate stylish shoe storage solutions as part of my home décor. Just like how art-lovers would proudly cover their walls with beautiful paintings, it is possible to show off your beautiful shoes with some creative ideas. Moreover, it is best to keep shoes within sight, so that you can always look at them and visualize how you can match (or mismatch) your footwear for a fun outfit.

Shoe Storage Wheel

Shoe Storage Wheel

These shoe storage wheels are sold in a UK store, call Lok’nStore. I like the fun design for both its look and functionality. The top full wheel has got grills to allow shoes to air. The wheels add great mobility to the storage- if you love shifting and changing things around the house like me. If you have a “handyman” (the endearing boyfriend or husband), try convincing them to mount these onto the wall for an interesting feature display!

Old Book Shelf

Old Book Shelf

Bookshelves come in pretty cheap flat packs today that are easy to assemble. Why not grab one for your high heels storage/ display? I love how the top shelf is used to display other little knick knacks. This can be displayed in the living area, or, if you are fortunate enough to have a large walk-in robe, use it as a divider to section the area. Possibilities are endless!

Cylinders

If you have got numerous pairs of shoes, a vintage pigeonhole shelf like above would be a wonderful way to stash them away in a neat and orderly fashion.

These cylinder shelves have a better height than the pigeon-holes, making it a good option for ankle bootswedges or high heels.

Glass cabinets, although alot more difficult to assemble, are wonderful for shoe display and prevent dust collection. On the average, I buy between 1-2 pairs of designer shoes a year. Perhaps, in ten years’ time, I’ll have a decent collection to fill this glass cabinet display!

Floor to Ceiling Shelf

Floor to Ceiling Shelf

Well, this is my dream display- a floor-to-ceiling shoe rack! If I have that many pairs of shoes… I can picture what fun it is, to have some girlfriends over for a weekend afternoon tea, making a conversation out of your shoes ;)

Now, give me more shoes!
