High heels are an extremely popular footwear for women. They are perfect for that business women, a night out on the town, or for any other special occasion. There are many different types, sizes, and styles of high heels to choose from, so you pick the ones that look the best on you and that work for the outfit you are wearing.

A couple of different types are stiletto heels, pumps heels (also known as court shoes), and wedge heels. Stiletto heels are a tall and slim heel. They are ordinarily at a minimum of 2 inches in height and are extremely small in diameter. Pumps heels have a more conservative look to them with a heel that is thicker and not usually as tall. Wedge heels (which have also been described as being in a class of it's own rather than being a high heel) have a heel that continues to the toe of the shoe, forming a wedge.

The reason that many women wear heels is due to the way that they make your legs and feet look and how they can change the appearance of your legs and feet. For those that are shorter, they also give you a taller appearance.

When contemplating between two pairs of high heels then you should always go with the more classic pair. Why? A classic pump will get more mileage then the one with the rhinestones and feathers no matter how trendy it is. Buy heels that will last you a long time.

(2) Stilettos vs. Kittens

There are two types of heels- high and very high. A kitten heel is ideal for women who like a little boost, but who do not like to be towering over others. A stiletto is for a confident woman who likes to take charge. There are plenty of heights in between these two that you can choose from when you buy heels. Just pick the one that you will make you feel the most comfortable and confident. You do not want to trip in heels that are too high!

(3) Quality Counts

Stay away from cheap shoes! This does not mean that your shoes have to be expensive. It does mean, however, to stay away from unnatural materials and cheap looking shoes. Not only will they fall apart easily, but they will make your feet stink. If you buy high heel shoes that are cheap, then your whole outfit can look inexpensive!
